Our Flagship Pearson 36-2

Joie de Vivre - Our Flagship vessel is a Pearson 36-2

Built as a cruiser/racer, Joie de Vivre is sturdy, comfortable below and well appointed on deck. A former President of Pearson Yachts has described the 36-2 as the best sailing boat Pearson ever built. She offers generous accommodations below with a private cabin forward and a private cabin aft plus comfortable sleeping options in the main saloon. The bunks are 6'6" long. Standing headroom exceeds 6'2" in the main saloon. The water system offers hot and cold running water in the galley and the head for dish washing and showering. Her 6'6" keel makes her fast and comfortable underway. Joie has a 35 hp Yanmar Diesel engine and wheel steering

The Joie de Vivre is well equipped with extensive electronic aids to navigation including VHF radio, radar, autopilot, GPS, and chart plotting. We have an electric windlass to aid in anchoring. She also carries a Winslow 6 person life raft. She is equipped with flares, an EPIRB and all the other safety equipment suggested by the Coast Guard Auxiliary by whom the vessel has been inspected. That earns us a special notation on the ASA website.

If you choose a weekend voyage, in addition to being part of the crew, you will be Capt.Joan's guest in her "B&B of the Sea"; (Bunk and Breakfast). The Joie carries extensive galley gear for a boat of her size. If the season is right, you might expect some of our signature blueberry pancakes for breakfast at least once on your cruise.
